Our Week of Learning Outdoors
This week we have been spending lots of time learning outside, and we have loved it!
“We have been doing lots of learning at the beach,” said Brogan and Rowan. “It’s been fun because we get to learn and explore at the same time.”
Andrew and Ezme have been working really hard on multiplication. At first, they found it quite tricky, but they didn’t give up. “It was challenging at the start,” they said, “but the more we practised, the easier it became. Now we feel more confident!”
Ewan has been enjoying his number work. He is getting better at counting and has especially liked drawing his numbers. “I like making my numbers” he shared.
Maisie enjoyed sharing her ideas while talking to Morven and Maggie about the Sound of Gigha. She liked thinking about different ideas.
Syd has been practising his multiplication too. He really enjoyed showing his knowledge of the four times table by completing a colouring picture. “It helped me see the pattern,” he said.
Sofia has loved spending time exploring the beach. She enjoyed discovering new things and being outside in nature.
We also had a very exciting visit from Ashleigh from the HWDT (Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust). She showed us real skeletons and bones from porpoises, bottlenose dolphins, and even a sperm whale! We were amazed and asked lots of questions. We are going to be doing a research project with her and are really looking forward to her next visit.
