By Ewan, Elliott, Sofia, Rowan and Ezme

Spelling lessonThis week we have been working really hard on our spelling. We have been learning our spelling rules in different ways to help us remember them. One of our favourite activities was using playdough to stamp our spelling words. We used letter stamps to make our words. Elliott said he liked this because he could do it very quickly and it was fun learning at the same time.

We have also been doing lots of instructional writing. This is when you explain how to do something step by step. Rowan wrote about how to grow tomatoes, which links to something we have been learning about in gardening club. We had to remember to include clear instructions so someone else could follow them.

In the woodsOur favourite day this week was definitely Friday because we spent the whole day learning outside. Sofia said, “We spent all day outside and I never wanted to go home!” We explored the woods and used our creativity to build dens and shelters.

Maisie said she loved having snack and hot chocolate in the woods, which made the day feel really cosy. Ezme said, “I liked being creative by building a den for everyone.” Ewan said, “We didn’t just build a den, we built a whole village!” We worked together to design different shelters and spaces in the woodland.

It was a really fun way to learn and we enjoyed working together, using our imaginations and exploring outdoors.
